About the Role

This placement is designed as a hands-on learning experience for early career photographers seeking to deepen their photography practice while gaining exposure to the operations of a creative studio. Each week, you will explore a new photography technique (e.g., portrait lighting, shutter speed studies, composition strategies) and schedule a corresponding shoot to practice that skill, all while also contributing to event photography coverage and studio productions as they arise.

📅 Schedule

  • 6-8 month Term

  • ~8 hours/week

  • Weekly check-in/mentorship meeting with supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Participate in weekly technique-based assignments and complete corresponding shoots.

  • Support photography production: assist on shoots & manage own shoots, operate DSLR cameras, use flash/strobe, manage files.

  • Edit, organize, and deliver images according to studio workflow standards.

  • Contribute to social media and resource content creation.

  • Assist in research and preparation of creative tech/entrepreneurship workshops.

  • Explore and document AI workflows relevant to creative production.

  • Conduct lead generation research and maintain a basic client/outreach tracker.

  • Attend weekly mentorship meetings for review, critique, and planning.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a U.S. college/university program with CPT or academic credit eligibility.

  • Working knowledge/Open to learning of DSLR photography and manual camera settings.

  • Interest in portraiture, event coverage, and creative studio practice.

  • Clear communication, punctuality, and collaborative spirit.

  • Must be legally authorized to participate in CPT.

  • Own DSLR and flash gear
